Frequently Asked Questions
What do you do that makes your art print so beautifully?
When we set up the scene in Poser we ensure that the final render is done at 300 DPI. Although this takes our computer a looooong time to render the pic, we at least know the finished print result will be excellent .
We also have years of experience using graphic programs that we can make an even bad quality photo print beautifully once its added to our artwork. We have been using Poser, Paint Shop and Photoshop for the past 6 years.
We digitally cut out the subject from the photo which is very easy, then the hard bit begins which is putting a scene together, often even rendering new clothing for the subject.

How do you get your ideas for the scenes?
I have a very vivid imagination when it comes to anything fantasy or magical. I just have to look at a photo to get an idea into my head of what kind of scene the subject can be transported into. I love watching the scene come together as I am placing everything and setting up the camera and lighting within my Poser program so it blends well with the photo.
Is your finished work copyrighted?
Yes it is, but once the fee is paid, I give all rights to the picture to the purchaser. Not many artists do this. But as the purchasers photo was involved in the art piece, I always give the copyright over to the client which makes using the finished art piece a lot easier. The only time I keep the copyright to myself is if it is an actually art work not using a clients photo.
How long does it take you to finish an photo art piece?
Once we actually start to work on the piece it should take no more than 2-3 days. We are so used to creating scenes and postwork that it is not really a long process. We only work on one piece at a time, so the initial delay will depend on how much work we have from other clients at that time.
What sort of photo do you need to create an art piece?
As long as the photo is good quality and large in size (minimum 1000 pixels is best) it does not matter what pose the subject is in. I have often created full body scenes just from a photo of the persons head and shoulders.
Photos should be emailed to me and if you are scanning a photo, please scan it at 300 DPI and make sure your scanner is free of dust as often it gives a snowy effect to the photo.
Do I need to make sure the subject is dressed and posed in a certain way?
No not really, not unless you want to. We often create clothes for the subject and also our art work works around the pose in the photo so this is not necessary really.
Is it easy to get the artwork printed?
We always use online companies such as Snapfish. Just upload the finished art piece and choose what you want it printed onto. We will send out via Postal Mail a signed copyright waver which you can use if a non online photo place requests permission, which some do.
Can you create any type of scene?
Yes we can more or less create anything within reason.
How do I view proofs
You will be emailed a small version of the picture so you can approve it and make changes. Once finished you will be emailed a download like to the large sized picture or have it mailed to you on a CD, depending on which option you chose.
How do I pay for my order
We prefer Paypal, or if your in UK, you can also send a cheque.
We will also accept American Express Gift Vouchers (which is just like sending cash) if your outside of UK and do not use Paypal.
